The Latin name for alto is reference to the altitudes of our vineyards and the estate’s ow aspirations of excellence. Only five winemakers have crafted wines at the alto wine estate in the Stellenbosch winelands in its 90-year history, and even fewer can claim two father and so combinations over the same period. Bertho Van Der Westhuizen took over the reins from his well-known father, Schalk, on 1 may 2015. Bertho’s devotion to his craft is ever present and he continues turning tradition into triumph. the consummate contribution of these men culminates in this wine, which is offered as a tribute to their passion and dedication
